The following is a listing of classes that the Santa Clara JATC has to offer thus far. Currently we will host any of the class’s as long as we have the students to partake in them. We usually reserve at least 5-10 students per class depending on the class before we host the class. So if you or any one else is interested in taking a class, keep in mind we will need at least 5-10 students to present the class that you are interested in.

Intro to LonWorks
| LonWorks technology provides
a solution to the many problems of designing, building, installing, and
maintaining device networks: networks that can range in size from two
to 32,000 devices and can be used in everything from supermarkets to petroleum
plants, from aircraft to railway cars, from fusion lasers to slot machines,
from single family homes to skyscrapers.
In almost every industry today,
there is a trend away from proprietary control schemes and centralized
systems. Manufacturers are using open, off-the-shelf chips, operating
systems, and parts to build products that feature improved reliability,
flexibility, system cost, and performance.

|
|
LonWorks technology is accelerating
the trend away from proprietary control schemes and centralized systems
by providing interoperability, robust technology, faster development, and
scale economies. |
High Voltage Testing
|
The back bone of our world,
electricity. Without it, where would we be? It’s hard for one to comprehend.
We use it at home, at work, when were at the movies, when were eating at
our favorite restaurants. Some may be familiar with what electricity is,
but how does it get to our houses and buildings we work in every day? That
is what this class encompasses. Our high voltage
testing class not only covers the principles of testing, but also that
of safety, splicing, and the basic theories of high voltage transmission.

Fire Alarm
Fire
alarm control is a vital part of the electrical trade. It insures building
property as well as the most valuable asset in the building, human life.
We here are offering this class of fire
alarm control circuitry that will provide you with the know how to install
and understand fire alarm controls in today’s world. This class
will cover multiple vendors of life safety and fire control equipment,
different device types, and different control panels that we see in
today’s infrastructures across the United States. It will also
convey the basic concepts of fire panel control and the aspects involved
when programming or designing and implementing a fire control system.
|
|
|
Some of the subjects covered
will consist of:
1. Programming smoke detectors
2. Fire alarm control wiring and routing
3. Fire alarm smoke and heat detectors
4. Fire alarm control panels
5. Zone engineering
6. Duct detectors |
